How to build trust with employees and freelance business?

    Employee’s trust can be considered as one of the vital aspects of business success. Trust is often talked about as the basis of a company’s success. Most people think about the issue in terms of customers when they have to believe in you and your products and services. But trust within the organization is just as important. Your employees must believe in each other. When they don’t, communication, teamwork, and performance surely suffer. When employees of a business truth their manager and company, they will become loyal workers for the company that will with no doubt help the company to be a successful one in the market.

Different ways to increase employee’s trust

It is important to find proper ways to increase employees’ trust.

1.Reduce stress

First of all, as a manager, you have to find whatever that might influence the employee’s behavior and trust. Stress tends to cause people to socially retract and be wary of others’ intentions, you need to take action to diminish it and build trust with employees. In order to reduce the stress, you as a manager has to communicate more openly and friendly with your employees.


You can also encourage them by using their PTO days. Vacations help prevent burnout, lower stress levels and generally make employees happier and more productive. While some employees are overworked, many just don’t know how to manage their time effectively. As a leader, you can dispel this issue by coaching your employees on how to prioritize work and better manage their time.

3.Show trust

Another way is to show your employees how much you trust them in the company. It is a natural human tendency to trust people who show that they trust us. Actively trusting people requires vulnerability and, once you do it, it reduces people’s doubt to trust back. Being transparent about your decision-making is an effective strategy to build trust with employees because they can rely on you to share complete and accurate information.


Giving autonomy means empowering employees to choose how they complete projects and when they reach out to you for guidance. It shows that you trust them to complete projects successfully and as a result, they’ll feel encouraged to meet expectations and perceive you as more trustworthy.


As a manager, it is important to take the time to listen to your employees’ ideas, ask additional questions about them, and explain that you’ll consider implementing some of their points shows that you value them. It’s a simple action, but it has a powerful impact on your relationships with employees and it’s something that many leaders forget to do.

Actively listen and check for understanding by paraphrasing what you’ve heard. Use a variety of feedback tools to ensure everyone has the chance for their voice to be heard. You must engage in dialogue with employees, giving them the opportunity to ask questions, get answers, and voice concerns. Then, apply what your internal stakeholders share for future actions.



Hire and promote people to supervisory positions if they’re capable of forming positive, trusting interpersonal relationships with those who report to them. 8. Treat equally

You have to treat everyone equally and never play favorites. Treat everyone on your team the same so that they feel like they are an active part of the team. It is very important to create an atmosphere where everyone feels happy and comfortable working there and nobody feels ignored and isolated from others.

9. Try to know each employee

Great leaders make time to get to know their team and what each employee needs to perform well. This doesn’t have to be time-consuming. All it requires is a stop by someone’s desk to ask, “How’s it going? Do you have any questions about that new task you’ve been assigned?” If you don’t pay attention to current projects and the challenges your employees are facing, you can’t provide the support they need to keep efficiency and productivity humming. 10. Forgive employees for small mistakes

A mistake is part of a job and we all make mistakes. When your employees make small mistakes, you’d better debrief them and treat those mistakes as growth opportunities on the way to better performance. You have to treat openly and intimately with your team to make them trust you and be honest about their mistakes. Treating employees’ mistakes as a business problem rather than a personal failure signals to your team that they can trust you to react appropriately when things go wrong.

Leadership is an important skill that can take you far in life. Take the time to build trust in your workplace.
